Helveteq Announces Listing of Crypto ETPs on SIX Swiss Exchange

SIX Swiss Exchange today confirmed that Helveteq is listing two new crypto exchange-traded products (ETPs), Bitcoin (Bitcoin Zero / BTCO2) and Ethereum (Ether Zero / ETH2O). With the latest listing, Helveteq became the third new crypto ETP issuer to join SIX in 2022.

Through Helveteq’s addition, SIX now has a total of 11 crypto ETP issuers. The platform also has 155 tradeable crypto ETPs. Founded in 2021, Helveteq is headquartered in Pfäffikon SZ. Moreover, the company has a representative office in Zollikon.

The announcement from SIX came nearly 3 weeks after Fidelity Exchange Traded Products GmbH listed two Bitcoin exchange-traded products in US Dollars and Swiss Francs on the SIX Swiss Exchange.

Commenting on the latest listing, Christian Katz, CEO at Helveteq, said that it is important to offer carbon-neutral crypto ETPs. “It is time to offer investors the first carbon-neutral crypto ETPs by a Swiss issuer. Awareness of the link between the environment and the blockchain economy is rising fast and we all must work together to find sustainable solutions. That’s why Helveteq sponsors and cooperates with the University of Zurich for research in this field, based on which we compensate the carbon footprint of our Zero ETP family,” Katz said.

Crypto Offerings

SIX is now offering a broad range of crypto-related products. The platform offers access to 240 products based on 18 cryptocurrencies. Since the start of 2021, SIX has welcomed several new crypto ETP issuers. Last year, SIX reported a 673% jump in trading turnover related to cryptocurrencies.

“Already early, Switzerland established clear framework conditions enabling investors to exploit the opportunities offered by digitalization. Crypto Valley, between Zurich and Zug, is home to numerous companies and organizations in the blockchain sector,” Christian Reuss, Head of SIX Swiss Exchange, commented on Switzerland’s growing popularity in the crypto ecosystem.
